Sundowner Birdwatching Trip Chapwani Island.
Boat trip to Chapwani Island only 15 minutes from Stone-town where we can observe flocks of different egrets and herons arriving to roost and other aquatic birds fishing in the sea. We might encounter the African Fish Eagle which is the newest resident on the island.
The southern section houses trees that are the roost of a colony of more than one thousand harmless fruit bats. You may see them swarming towards the Zanzibar mainland in the evenings looking for meals of fruit and flower nectar depending fruit availability. We will have some drinks and snacks on the boat while enjoying the birdlife, spectacular views and of course the sunset. After sunset we will head back to Stone-Town.

Half-Day and Day Trips Unguja
Unguja, mostly referred to as Zanzibar, is the main island of the Zanzibar archipelago. Here we can find two Important Bird Areas (IBA) including Jozani-Chwaka Bay Forest national Park. The islands consist out of the following habitat types: Mudflats, Coral-flats, protected Mangroves, Sandy beaches, Swamps and Forests with all their own species.
We can visit different habitats or stay in one. This is up to the customer. We will advise depending on weather and tides which and when is the best time to visit a certain habitat and observe the birds. Half a day is from 6am-12pm and a whole day ends around 6pm.
We provide you with refreshments and local Bird Checklist. Transport (we pick you up and drop you off at your hotel) and Park-Fees are included.

Two-Day Trip Pemba
On Pemba, the second largest inhabited island, there are two IBA’s as well and Ngezi forest reserve. For the keen birders who happen to be in Zanzibar this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see four endemics only found on Pemba: Pemba Green Pigeon (Treron pembaensis, Pemba Scops Owl (Otus pembaensis), Pemba White-Eye (Zosterops vaughani)and Pemba Sunbird (Cinnyris pembae) and three endemic sub-species: Pemba Goshawk (Accipiter tachiro pembaensis), Pemba Black-Bellied Starling (Lamprotornis corruscus vaughani) and Olive Sunbird (Cyanomitra olivacea granti)

We fly from Stone-Town to Pemba (About 30 minutes) in the morning and next day afternoon we fly back. That gives us ample time to do some serious birding. We will spend the night in a simple but clean accommodation. If you have special wishes let us know.

Day Trip Latham island
Latham island (IBA) is an unique and hard to reach sandbank located 65 KM to the SE of Unguja .Furthermore the island is surrounded by a fringing reef and is oceanic. Oceanic as it lies off the continental shelf and is surrounded by deep water and is famous for the large colonies of Masked Booby (Sula dactylatra) , Brown Noddy (Anous stolidus), Sooty Tern (Sterna fuscata).
We observe during the calmer months of October through to December. Then again from late February through to end of April depending weather and sea state. We leave early in the morning and be back around sunset.
